FAW Toyota is recalling vehicles due to a safety hazard related to the fuel filter.
Due to the uneven quality of filter manufacturers and the chaotic auto parts market, counterfeit and substandard filters are flooding the market, resulting in many vehicles being recalled due to fuel filter issues. According to the State Administration for Market Regulation, the fuel filters of some diesel-powered Coaster models have insufficient strength. Frequent engine starts and stops cause engine vibration and frequent changes in fuel pressure, potentially leading to cracks in the fuel filter and safety hazards. Previously, FAW Toyota recalled 235 diesel Skoda vehicles.
Solution:
FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. will notify users of the recall through registered letters, etc., and dealerships will also notify users by phone, text message, etc. Users can call 400-810-1210 or 800-810-1210 for inquiries. Vehicle owners can also visit the website of the Defect Product Management Center of the State Administration for Market Regulation (www.dpac.gov.cn), the China Automobile Recall Network (www.qiche365.org.cn), and follow the WeChat official account (AQSIQDPAC) for more information. They can also call the hotline of the Defect Product Management Center of the State Administration for Market Regulation: 010-59799616, 010-65537365 to report problems during the recall process or submit defect clues.
Recall Reason:
The fuel filter installed on the diesel engine of the vehicle has insufficient strength. Frequent engine starts and stops cause engine vibration and frequent changes in fuel pressure, potentially leading to cracks in the fuel filter. Continued use in this condition will cause the cracks to extend until the filter breaks. In extreme cases, this may cause fuel leakage, posing a safety hazard.
